Je suis maître de conférences en études théâtrales, habilitée à diriger des recherches (EHESS) et membre de l’Institut universitaire de France. J’interviens principalement en arts du spectacle et en direction de projets ou d’établissements culturels, mais aussi en histoire et humanités numériques. Je suis également enseignante en études persanes à l’Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco).

Après avoir étudié le fonctionnement sociopolitique de la marionnette iranienne et son pouvoir de détournement, je travaille actuellement sur le théâtre sociopolitique ultracontemporain en Asie de l’Ouest et Afrique du Nord (Moyen-Orient, SWANA), notamment en Iran et au Liban. Je m’intéresse aussi aux événements performatifs rituels et populaires comme le ta’zieh et les célébrations d’Ashura, ainsi qu’aux cérémonies et processions chrétiennes, notamment en Italie. À travers ces formes, je cherche également à repérer les traces des circulations et des adaptations de la tradition théâtrale et cérémonielle antique.
 

Je travaille enfin, en lien avec mes enseignements en master, sur la question de la médiation pédagogique et de la performance, et cela participe à la formation de méthodologies de recherche moins conventionnelles comme la recherche-action et la recherche-création.

I am a Senior Lecturer in Theatre Studies, accredited to supervise research (Habilitation to Direct Research - The School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences), and a member of the Institut universitaire de France. I teach primarily in Performing Arts and in the management of cultural projects and institutions, as well as in history and digital humanities. I also teach Persian studies at the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco).
 

After studying the sociopolitical functioning of Iranian puppetry and its subversive potential, I am currently working on ultracontemporary sociopolitical theatre in West Asia (Middle East), particularly in Iran and Lebanon. I am also interested in ritual and popular performative events such as ta’zieh and Ashura commemorations, as well as Christian ceremonies and processions, particularly in Italy. Through these forms, I also seek to identify traces of the circulation and adaptation of ancient theatrical and ceremonial traditions.
 

These two strands form the basis of my current research on the adaptations and circulations of ancient tragedies and medieval theatre in the Middle East.
 

Finally, in connection with my graduate teaching, I work on pedagogical mediation and performance, which contributes to the development of less conventional research methodologies such as action research and practice-based research.
